Training Rides

A Little Gratitude Goes a Long Way

Have any of you ever had a thankless job? One where you work really hard and no one ever seems to notice?

Well we want to make sure that our training ride volunteers are not doing a thankless job. Mamma Jamma only has 1 employee but we are able to do what we do because of the amazing dedication of so many wonderful volunteers. The training rides are entirely planned and run by volunteers.

These amazing people freely give their free time to help us all become better cyclists and push our limits. They spend countless hours planning each of these rides, creating maps, recruiting other volunteers, buying ice, planning SAG, reaching out to beneficiaries, and being out there every weekend an hour before everyone else to get things ready and staying until the last rider is in and then cleaning up.

So the next time you are out at one of our rides, please thank a volunteer ride guide, or a volunteer ride convener, or a SAG volunteer. If you see something that needs improvement, don’t just point it out, pitch in and help and become part of an amazing and dedicated team of volunteers who make good things happen each and every week.

Remember this week’s ride location has changed. If you have one of our postcards, please note that we are not leaving from Blanco Vista Elementary. We will be leaving from the San Marcos Activity Center. You can find details about the ride here: http://mammajammaride.org/events/training-ride-3-2/. See you this weekend!
