2023 Texas Mamma Jamma Ride
Registration for the 2023 Texas Mamma Jamma Ride is officially open! Be one of the first to register for our first-class bike ride on Saturday, Sept. 16 in Taylor, Texas. Enjoy small-town Texas fun all in support of Lone Star Circle of Care’s Big Pink Bus. Registering early gives you plenty of time to fundraise, build your team and start training for a life-saving cause!
Big Pink Bus: Updates
Milestone: The Big Pink Bus has reached another significant milestone! The Bus has provided over 3,000 screening mammograms since Lone Star Circle of Care began offering mobile mammography services in July 2021. That’s a lot of life-saving screenings for Central Texas women!
The screening mammograms provided by the Big Pink Bus are important to help underserved and uninsured women in Central Texas detect breast cancer in its early stages, when treatment has the best outcomes. The funds raised though the annual Texas Mamma Jamma Ride support the Big Pink Bus and keep it rolling throughout Central Texas bringing free or low-cost, high-quality 3D breast imaging services to our neighbors who need it most.
Getting Around: Have you seen the Big Pink Bus around town? The Bus has been on the move throughout Central Texas participating in health events and partnering with community organizations. The Bus has a lot more exciting stops coming up over the next few months, so don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of the Big Pink Bus on the highway! By the way, as you’re heading north on I-35 near Pflugerville, make sure to check out the new billboard between Howard Lane and Wells Branch Parkway.
Blessing of the Bicycles
Join us for the 2nd annual outdoor Blessing of the Bicycles at New Sweden Lutheran Church! Make plans to ride in the direction of New Sweden Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 15 for this beautiful and inspiring event. Tours and refreshments, including homemade Swedish cookies, start at 10:00 am. Taylor Bike Company will provide bike mechanical support. Water and portable restrooms onsite too!
