A Message from our Executive Director
Dear Friends,
I love looking at this photo of us at last year’s ride, and I can’t wait to be together again this fall. As we navigate the challenges of COVID-19, I am mindful that many in our community continue to be impacted by breast cancer.
Breast cancer doesn’t care about COVID-19. In the days and weeks ahead, hundreds of Central Texans will be diagnosed, undergo surgery and will start radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Their immune systems will be compromised, putting them at greater risk for the virus. Families impacted by breast cancer will struggle even more than before. They need our support.
Like you, we are following all recommended precautions. We are exploring ways to go virtual with our training program. We will post relevant, inspiring and positive content on social media and in our newsletters. And most of all, we await the time when we can gather in person for a bike ride. Pedaling to beat breast cancer is what we are all about and our determination and passion for our cause is unwavering.
Don’t let COVID-19 stop you from registering to ride, fundraising, and donating. Our beneficiaries, Breast Cancer Resource Center, Komen Greater Central and East Texas, Ascension Seton Breast Care Center, Wonders & Worries, Team Survivor, Community Action Central Texas, and Sustainable Food Center, haven’t stopped serving the breast cancer fighters and survivors in our community. Now more than ever, we are counting on your continued support.
Take care of yourselves, your families, friends, and our community. Remember you are training for the 2020 Texas Mamma Jamma Ride! So, exercise, get plenty of sleep, and hydrate.
See you soon!
Marion Martin, Executive Director
