Corina Watts: Rider Profile
New experiences can be unpredictably meaningful, Corina Watts learned this after her first Texas Mamma Jamma ride last year. Corina dove headfirst into the Mamma Jamma community this year after having a great time in 2019. Corina now knows that with an amazing community and cause behind Texas Mamma Jamma, newcomers can’t help but fall in love at first ride.
Who or what drives your ride?
I ride for my family and friends that have had breast cancer. The Texas Mamma Jamma ride is important to me as I can support them in a meaningful way by bringing awareness to the cause and helping others in need. Whatever I can do to help, I’m in! Last year was the first time I rode in the Texas Mamma Jamma ride and I am so excited to ride this year as well.
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am an avid scuba diver, and enjoy travelling the world with my husband, Brian. We travel a few times a year, diving and exploring wherever we go. Last October, we traveled to Egypt to dive the Red Sea, one of the best places in the world to scuba dive. I am very goal-oriented, whether I am running a marathon, scuba diving, riding my bike or completing a triathlon. I put my whole heart and mind in everything I do and Texas Mamma Jamma is no different.
Who do you ride with?
I ride and train with my Y-Tri family. I trained with the Y-Tri group in 2017 for my first triathlon and have loved them ever since! They are the most supportive group and encourage me when I don’t think I can go any further. Through the Y-Tri group, I have met so many fabulous people in our triathlon and cycling communities and I look forward to many rides with them in the future.
