COVID-19 Update Ride Day

The Texas Mamma Jamma Ride is committed to the health and safety of our riders, volunteers, spectators, vendors, and host communities. This commitment is even more important now considering the challenges presented by COVID-19. With ride day fast approaching on September 19, we want you to know what actions we are taking to make sure that this year’s event is a safe and successful experience for all participants.

Our annual ride is permitted by USA Cycling, which means that we always follow the highest national standards to produce a safe cycling event. This year is no exception and along with existing guidelines, are new recommendations added in response to COVID-19. In addition to the guidelines issued by USA Cycling, we are also adhering to all local public health requirements.

Currently, we are undertaking an evaluation of every aspect of the ride day experience, from packet pick-up, start line, rest stops, food and beverage service, to finish line favorites like spa towels, to determine what adjustments will need to be made to ensure social distancing and sanitation requirements are met.

The size and location of our event gives us the flexibility to make all necessary adjustments to mitigate risk. On top of that, our production company, Cadence Sports, who works closely with USA Cycling and some of the most prominent cause rides in the country, assisted with development of the guidelines that we will follow.

We are grateful for your support and look forward to updating you throughout the summer on our progress.
